Couples often begin therapy after months or years of repeating the same arguments, avoiding difficult conversations, or feeling increasingly disconnected.
The problem is not always a lack of love. It may be a pattern of communication that leaves both people feeling unheard, criticized, defensive, or alone.
Common concerns include communication breakdowns, repeated arguments, emotional distance, loss of trust, resentment, infidelity or betrayal, parenting disagreements, intimacy concerns, work or financial stress, major life transitions, alcohol-related conflict, substance-related conflict, separation decisions, and rebuilding after a crisis
The Goal Is Understanding, Not Winning
Couples therapy is not a courtroom, and the therapist’s role is not to decide who is right.
The work focuses on understanding the pattern between two people, identifying what causes conversations to break down, and helping each person communicate more honestly and effectively.
For some couples, the goal is rebuilding connection. For others, it may be making thoughtful decisions about the future of the relationship.
